2 cups fresh cherries pitted 3 large eggs 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup whole milk 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp salt 1 tbsp unsalted butter for greasing the dish 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting, optional
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter.
Arrange the pitted cherries evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, flour, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
Slowly pour the batter over the cherries in the baking dish.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown around the edges.
