This smooth and flavorful guava butter is a tropical spread perfect for toast, pancakes, or as a filling for pastries. Made with fresh guavas and a touch of sweetness, it’s a delicious way to enjoy the taste of guava year-round.
In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped guavas, sugar, and water over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the guavas soften and break down.
Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp for a smoother texture.
Return the strained mixture to the saucepan, add lemon juice and cinnamon (if using), and cook over low heat for another 10-15 minutes until thickened to a buttery consistency.
Let cool completely before transferring to a clean glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
