  • 4 cups ripe guavas peeled and chopped
  • 0.75 cup sugar adjust based on sweetness of guavas
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon optional, for extra warmth

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped guavas, sugar, and water over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the guavas soften and break down.
  • Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp for a smoother texture.
  • Return the strained mixture to the saucepan, add lemon juice and cinnamon (if using), and cook over low heat for another 10-15 minutes until thickened to a buttery consistency.
  • Let cool completely before transferring to a clean glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

  • Customization: Add vanilla extract or ginger for additional flavor.
  • Serving Tip: Spread on toast, pancakes, or mix into yogurt for a fruity twist.
