1.5 cups ripe guava peeled and chopped 1 cup sugar adjust based on sweetness of guavas 1 cup water 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the chopped guava, sugar, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the guavas soften and release their juices.
Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Let the mixture cool slightly.
Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer to remove guava pulp and seeds, pressing down with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.
Transfer the strained syrup into a clean glass jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Customization: Add a cinnamon stick or vanilla extract for extra flavor.
