3/4 cup warm milk about 110°F 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted 1 large egg 1/2 tsp salt 3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened, for filling 3/4 cup brown sugar packed, for filling 2 tbsp ground cinnamon for filling 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze 2 tbsp milk for glaze 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for glaze
In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add granulated sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix until combined.
Gradually add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Roll the dough out into a 12x18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle over the buttered dough.
Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
Place rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
Drizzle glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
