1 9-inch pie crust pre-baked 5 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 tbsp cornstarch 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup whipped cream for topping, optional
Arrange 4 cups of fresh strawberries in the pre-baked pie crust and set aside.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth.
